Classic 7-Day Cambodia Itinerary

This is a special interest in the Cambodia Tour temple and culture to explore Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. I often pick up my clients from the airport in Phnom Penh and do tours as per the following itinerary.
1st Day Arrival
The first day, we pick them up at the airport and track the flight to make sure we are on time for pickup. I always ask for flight details or flight numbers and hold up the signboard with their name at the arrival lounge.
2nd Day Phnom Penh Things to Do

On the second day, we start the tour by leaving at 8:00 AM. The first place we are going to see is the royal palace because of the good time for photos and fewer people there. Most of my clients enjoy listening to and learning about the history of royal places. Then we continue to see the National Museum; it is worth a visit to see most of the statues, which have different eras and were brought from the temples in Siem Reap and other countries. We continue to see Wat Phnom Pagoda, and then we have lunch in the city. After lunchtime, we continue to see the local Russian market and do some shopping. We come back to relax at the hotel and pick up at 4:00 PM for a sunset cruise on the Mekong River.
3rd Day Phnom Penh City Tour

On the third day, we start the tour at 8:00 to see the silk island (Koh Dach). It is worth visiting there to learn more about silk production, meet local people, and enjoy the beautiful local area and plantation. It is highly recommended you can help and support local people by donation or buy something for a souvenir, especially for the people who are interested in silk scarves or traditional Khmer costume. After visiting Silk Island, we will head to SOSORO, a museum where you can learn about history that is not available online or in books. As your tour guide, I highly recommend visiting this place. We can see the real ancient material, which is from the 6th or 8th century up. Thereafter, we go for lunch in the afternoon.
We continue to see the Killing Field and sorrowful history about the Khmer people who killed thousands of people. Lastly, we return back to the hotel and stay overnight.
4th Day Phnom Penh to Siem Reap

On the fourth day, we start leaving Phnom Penh for Siem Reap. I will be using a reliable professional driver in Phnom Penh for our private car, as I have often relied on him for long trips; unlike short trips, drivers do not gain the same experiences from both types of journeys, which is why I have used different drivers for shorter distances. The journey from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap takes approximately 5 hours. We arrived in Siem Reap; we picked up our clients at 7:00 PM for Apsara dancing. This is a worthwhile visit, and we enjoyed dinner there.
5th Day Siem Reap Tour

On day five, we start to visit Phnom Kulen, the waterfall, 1000 lingas, and the big Buddha. It really worth a visit there because you can see different views and see how local people often visit this place. On the way back from Phnom Kulen, we have lunch and rest, and then we continue to see Banteay Srei temple, also known as the pink sandstone that most tourists have not missed. After that we are on the way back to the hotel and arrive around 5:00 PM.
6th Day Angkor Wat Tour

On Day Six, we start the tour early to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat. It is really worth a visit to see the sunrise, and you should check the weather forecast to make sure you are there in time to see the sunrise. After the sunrise, I share Angkor Wat history and then bring my clients for breakfast nearby temple. We continue to see the Gate of Angkor Thom as the main impressive feature, and you can enjoy the views of 54 gods and 54 demons on the left and right to represent the 54 provinces of the Khmer Empire during the reign of King Jayaraman VII. Then we go to see Bayon Temple, the main temple in the center of Angkor Thom, also known as the smiling temple. It really impressive temple with 49 towers, with each of the faces (now it still has 37 towers left).
After Bayon, we head up to Taphrom Temple, and what is special about this temple is that we can see a beautiful temple and trees combined together and really stunning views. After the Taphrom temple, we return back to the hotel.
7th Day Siem Reap City Tour

On the seventh day, we often do the city tour. The first interesting thing we do is the oxcart; it is a really amazing experience to ride and see the local village and plantation. We continue to do cooking class. My clients are always happy with the food, and they do shopping and buy and cook, and then we have lunch with what we cook. We explore the Khmer art school to see Angkor Senture to learn about how locals make coconut oil and soap. It really worth a visit on the city tour. We also do the floating village tour to see local people and learn how they make a living and enjoy the views of stilt houses.
I often take care of them and am happy to see them during the trip in Cambodia. I am really happy to show them the 7-day classic tour for those interested in temples and culture.
7-Day Adventure Cambodia Itinerary

The special is about a 7-day adventure tour in Cambodia. It is really worth it for a tourist who is looking for an off-the-beaten-path experience in Cambodia.
1st Day Pick Up Arrival
On the first day, we will pick up and welcome my clients from the airport to the hotel. We always make sure the car has air conditioning and a smooth, cold towel with water. I am really glad to introduce them to the best places to eat and enjoy nightlife, and what they will prepare well for the tour.
2nd Phnom Kulen (the former capital city)

We start the tour at 8:00 AM. We are going to see Phnom Kulen, a waterfall, 1000 linga, and a big buddha. Then we continue to see Elephant Pond (Sras Domrey). It was an incredible experience inside the forest that I have never forgotten, and so was the way I reached out there by motorbike. We spent around 3 hours there, and we
can temples, carvings, and natural cliff . It really worth visiting there. After Elephant Pond, we have lunch and then come back to our hotel around 5:00 PM in the evening.
3rd day: Explore Kbal Spean and Beng Mealea.
We explore Kbal Spean and Beng Mealea. Kbal Spean (head of bridge) is a journey in the forest to see a natural resource and waterfall. It was a former Khmer king who used to do meditation with his family and hermit. It has been a secret mountain for local people to come and pray there. After Kbal Spean, we continue to see Beng Mealea temple. It is a jungle temple, and it is worth seeing this temple to see the original structure and nature together . Then we continue to have lunch.
After lunch, we visit the Rolous group, Preah Ko, Bakong, and Lolei, which was a capital city before Angkor Thom.
Then we return back to the hotel around 5:00 PM.
4th day: To Koh Ker and Preah Vihear

We start leaving the hotel early for Preah Vihear; it is really worth a visit to see this temple on the mountain and the best one of mine and other tour guides’ secret places, with a different temple layout and all in one style of mixing different kings’ styles that were built in different times. Not only is the temple layout impressive, but it also has the history that many tour guides and other local people want to see in this unique temple.
After Preah Vihear, we are on the way back and stop for lunch at a local restaurant, and please be aware that it is a remote area and the restaurant has nothingfancy like in the city.
We continue to see the Koh Ker complex; we really enjoy the history of this capital city, which was known for its rich economy, styles, and impressive unique temples with many lingas installed inside the temple. I often bring my clients to see 5 temples; the major temples are Prasat Thom, Prasat Neak Kmao, and Prasat 5, and then the rest are other small temples. After that, we return back to Siem Reap around 6:00 PM.
5th Day: Preah Khan – Pre Rup

It is a grand circuit for the most popular temple tour for those interested in the off-beaten path and less traffic. It is a romantic temple complex to see. I often bring my clients to visit Preah Khan temple; it has 85 towers and a Buddhist temple with many corridors and amazing photo spots. It often takes around 2 hours to see this temple. At the next temple, we continue to see Neak Pean Temple, also known as Island Temple, and it feels really fresh to see this temple that is located in the middle of the lake, and we can reach itby foot on the floating bridge. It usually takes around 1 hour to see the central tower and the fourth pond.
We continue to see East Mebon. It is a similar style to pre-Rup and a very peaceful and beautiful photo spot we should not skip. It takes around an hour, and then we continue to see the Pre Rup temple. It is known as a pyramid temple and is worth a visit. Most of my clients are happy to see this temple. Lastly, we come back for sunset at Bakhen Temple. After sunset, we return back to the hotel.
6th Day Rolous Group – Banteay Srei

Rolous Group is worth visiting this complex to see major temples, with Bakong as the main temple located in the middle of the former capital city. Prea Ko is the royal family, which was built in the late 9th century with the six towers, also known as the oldest temple in Siem Reap, and Lolei, and then we continue to see the floating village. After floating, we have lunch, and then we continue to see Banteay Srei temple, also known as the pink sandstone temple, and the detailed carvings.
We return back to the hotel around 5:00 PM.
7th Day Angkor Wat Sunrise

This is the last day of the 7-day adventure tour in Cambodia. We start the tour early, by 5:00 AM. I often ask my clients to prepare a breakfast box for sunrise. After sunrise, we can have breakfast near the temple. We continue to see Angkor Wat on the first floor; we can see and learn more about the carving story, and the story carving depicts a Hindu story and a royal king parade military procession. We continue climbing up on the second and top floors. It is highly recommended you check the calendar to make sure it’s not a Buddhist day. If it is a Buddhist day, the top floor will be closed. It usually takes around 3 hours to walk and see the Angkor Wat temple. After Angkor Wat temple, we continue to see Bayon temple and Angkor Thom. This temple is really impressive, and it is the last to see Taphrom Temple. It has over 100 temples, but the major temples for the priority temple tour are the temples I mention above.
The special is about a 7-day adventure tour in Cambodia. It is really worth it for a tourist who is looking for an off-the-beaten-path experience in Cambodia. I have guided many tourists to these places and am really happy at the end of the tour.
