Plan 7-Day Itinerary for Cambodia: Siem Reap and Angkor Wat
Discover the 7-Day Cambodia Itinerary, which highlights Siem Reap Angkor Wat. This itinerary encompasses all the major temples in Siem Reap, as well as off-the-beaten-path and hidden temples, ensuring that your interest in temples is fully satisfied.
1st Day Pick Up Arrival
On the first day, we will pick up and welcome my clients from the airport to the hotel. We always make sure the car has air conditioning and a smooth, cold towel with water. I am really glad to introduce them to the best places to eat and enjoy nightlife, and what they will prepare well for the tour.
2nd Phnom Kulen (the former capital city)
Day 2: We will begin our visit to Phnom Kulen and explore the nightlife in the evening. You will learn about the reasons behind the construction of many temples in Siem Reap, including factors such as economic, religious, political, and geographic influences.
Visit Phnom Kulen, where you can learn about the history and the birthplace of the Angkorian civilization. Enjoy the stunning natural cliffs, the 1,000 lingas, the large Buddha, and the waterfall. Lunch break. Return to the hotel around 4:00 PM. In the evening, you will be picked up at 6:30 for Phare Circus. Return to the hotel at 9:00 PM.
3rd day: Beng Mealea and Koh Ker Complex
Leaving the hotel at 8:00 AM, we head to Beng Mealea temple. This jungle temple is worth visiting for its original structure and the way it blends with nature.
Next, we explore the Koh Ker complex, where we enjoy learning about the history of this ancient capital city, known for its rich economy, architectural styles, and the impressive, unique temples featuring numerous lingas. I often bring my clients to see five main temples: Prasat Thom, Prasat Neak Kmao, and Prasat 5, along with several smaller temples. We take a lunch break nearby the temple, and afterward, we return to Siem Reap around 5:00 PM.
4th Day: Preah Khan -Neak Pean– Pre Rup
It is a grand circuit for the most popular temple tour for those interested in the off-beaten path and less traffic. It is a romantic temple complex to see. I often bring my clients to visit Preah Khan temple; it has 85 towers and a Buddhist temple with many corridors and amazing photo spots. It often takes around 2 hours to see this temple. At the next temple, we continue to see Neak Pean Temple, also known as Island Temple, and it feels really fresh to see this temple that is located in the middle of the lake, and we can reach itby foot on the floating bridge. It usually takes around 1 hour to see the central tower and the fourth pond.
We continue to see East Mebon. It is a similar style to pre-Rup and a very peaceful and beautiful photo spot we should not skip. It takes around an hour, and then we continue to see the Pre Rup temple. It is known as a pyramid temple and is worth a visit. Most of my clients are happy to see this temple. Lastly, we come back for sunset at Bakhen Temple. After sunset, we return back to the hotel.
5th Day Rolous Group – Banteay Srei

Rolous Group is worth visiting this complex to see major temples, with Bakong as the main temple located in the middle of the former capital city. Prea Ko is the royal family, which was built in the late 9th century with the six towers, also known as the oldest temple in Siem Reap, and Lolei, and then we continue to see the floating village. After floating, we have lunch, and then we continue to see Banteay Srei temple, also known as the pink sandstone temple, and the detailed carvings.
We return back to the hotel around 5:00 PM.
6th Day Angkor Wat Sunrise

This is the last day of the 7-day adventure tour in Cambodia. We start the tour early, by 5:00 AM. I often ask my clients to prepare a breakfast box for sunrise. After sunrise, we can have breakfast near the temple. We continue to see Angkor Wat on the first floor; we can see and learn more about the carving story, and the story carving depicts a Hindu story and a royal king parade military procession. We continue climbing up on the second and top floors. It is highly recommended you check the calendar to make sure it’s not a Buddhist day. If it is a Buddhist day, the top floor will be closed. It usually takes around 3 hours to walk and see the Angkor Wat temple. After Angkor Wat temple, we continue to see Bayon temple and Angkor Thom. This temple is really impressive, and it is the last to see Taphrom Temple. It has over 100 temples, but the major temples for the priority temple tour are the temples I mention above.
The special is about a 7-day adventure tour in Cambodia. It is really worth it for a tourist who is looking for an off-the-beaten-path experience in Cambodia. I have guided many tourists to these places and am really happy at the end of the tour.
7th Day Departure
On the last day, you can enjoy your relaxation and free activities, while the driver and I will pick you up and transfer you to the airport.
